So all is going well now that we're at home...sorry for the delay in posting, but it has been a full 2 days! Audrey is chilling between her two parents this AM- here's the picture! To say the least, life is good in the Dick household. We had a doctor's visit yesterday for a weight check and to check her yellow-factor (jaundice). Weight has dropped a smidge since her discharge from the hospital, but not shabby. She is now eating like a champ, which makes her father far less concerned. No other real big
concerns other than how to achieve a very elusive sleep pattern. Feedings every 2-3 hours does cause a bit of a sleep deficit... Jen and I are trying to figure out who gets to be up at which times- constantly with diapers, feeding...yadda yadda. Naps (for the parents) are quite precious. While rare, trips outside the house are quite refreshing but short-lived. Despite all the work, there is nothing
more enjoyable than holding my little Audrey in one arm and working on the daily crossword with the other hand. Audrey and I have also been discussing our mutual conerns regarding the upcoming Notre Dame football game. (As an aside, Jen and I think that the recent loss to Michigan may be the ultimate factor that put her into early labor.)
We were able to celebrate Stephen's (my brother) birthday yesterday (17th)- we'll be sharing their birthday celebrations as a family from here on out. They have a little bond anyway, given that Audrey was born within a day of Stephen completing his "Iron Man" title.
Mom and Audrey are out for a shopping outing to Baby's R Us today- dad is going to get some breakfast and organize life. Working on a college fund for her right now...given the price of admission in 18 years, I better get moving on that one.

Congrats on your new edition. She is beautiful. Don't worry, the sleep gets better. We are 3 months in and only waking up once a night to feed the baby.
