Hi All, first a quick thank you for all of your notes to our blog...Jen and I read all of your comments, sometimes three times, as it is one of our connections to back home. Keep them coming. I think Nick asked where else we are venturing on one of his comments and for those who might not know the itinerary, we travel to dubrovnik and split in croatia, rome, venice, florence, cinque terre, and finally interlachen and frankfurt. An apology for not even spelling Salzburg correctly in the last little entry...but a quick note from Zagreb today... and you see that I did include the z there. Quite a little train ride from salzburg, but after our train was stopped by two groups of guards and confiscating Jens doobie stash, we were well on our way. My wiffee is such a trouble maker... Jen now says to remind you all that she does not traditionally use marijuana and Im really kidding. Enough about Jens fixation on weed. The cops did come storming through the trains checking passports...in fact just after jen was complaining that no one was stamping her passport with all the new countries she was visiting. It was a little fearful, Im not sure what they were screaming or why, but if they really want to see my passport, they can see my passport for a mere wink and a smile. Anyway, the Ravnice hostel is great and comfortable. Ate authentic Croat food last night. Lots of touring today...not sure of everything we saw as there was no guided tour, but there were some really nice big buildings and what not. Really cool outdoor market and went through the museum regarding the beginnings of zagreb. Overall the town was reallz laid back and people friendlz. Highlight of the day was our two stops to the ice cream shop including black cherry, cookies, chocolate cake, and heath bar crunch variety ice creams. We must have gained weight since our departure despite my earlier predictions that we would be skinny as rails. The beer and wine have been equally excellent. Off to Dubrovnik tomorrow AM...very early in fact. 4AM tram to the bus station, 5AM bus to the airport, and 7AM flight to the coast. |

Hi again,
Ray and Lee have announced that they are retiring on September 1, 2009.
Diane is also retiring next year.
Wow, now if I can just convince Zal...........???????????????
Love, RoyandZal
Why is it that their ice cream is so much better than ours? Have never figured it out? But, it really is a truism.
Love you guys, and stay safe. We think about you and your travels always. Mom and Dad
