Florence...

Hi All, our apologies but no pictures today...the computer is not cooperating...doh!  We had a busy day today, thankfully far fewer tourists here than in venice.  We got up early, had breakfast compliments of our hotel...rolls, jam, coffee, tea...  Went to the Uffizi gallery...skipped the long line outside the museum as Jen had already purchased tickets online...glorious!  Saw many beautiful works of art by Boticelli, Rembrandt, Michelangelo, and Leonardo da Vinci.  Vinni for short.  Then to the Santa Croce church where they have the tombs of galileo and michelangelo.  It was a huge church...bigger than what we have seen thus far.  Also saw a cloak from St. Francis of Assisi...pretty cool.  Went down by the Duomo...saw the outside, but not determined enough to sit in the extremely long line to get in, we were already too spoiled by our fast pass to the Uffizi.  Had lunch instead...pizza for Ryan and ravioli for Jen...would you believe that Jen can make a better creamy tomato sauce than the restaurants here in Florence!?  Spent the rest of the afternoon in the San Lorenzo market buying crap...I mean gifts.  Jen was in all her glory with endless vendors from street to street- gold, leather, bracelets, jewelry, and everything else a working girl could ask for.  Ryan cried all afternoon until he found the Italian version of the dollar store, seriously!  Got a couple sodas and an extra notebook.  Now the plan is Rome, but a slight detour to Tuscany if we can fit it in.  We are going to do a little research to see if it can be done.  Hope all is well and the weather is as nice as it is here...  Love, Jen and Ryan
