Rhymes, the Dictionary, and a victory over MSU

Seriously? Totally into reading our old school nursery rhymes right now- I think she likes the pictures best. When we get through the 200 page book and I put it down- she picks it back up and we read it again. As a distant alternative she has been reviewing the dictionary that I won as a 2nd grader. She loves the pictures! Jen has actually considered hiding the dictionary to avoid going through it, but doesn't have the heart to actually follow through.
Last weekend Bumpa, Nama, Jen, Auds and I all went down to Notre Dame and watched them kick a litte MSU donkey tail. Highlights of the trip was:
1) audrey did so well in the car rides both to and from the game
2) the sleeping overnight did not go so well- Jen was up most of both nights (Friday/Saturday). It was not pleasant. Audrey, you owe your mother.
3) Notre Dame won! 31 to 13. They seemed determined to give most of a us a heart attack towards the end, but managed to make it a mini-blowout.
4) Nama and Audrey (if it's possible) seemed to have even more fun that we had- they visited the reflecting pool and hung out with Charlie's mom and sister and little Silvie. Apparently Audrey likes ice-cream. Who knew??
5) We all tail-gaited with Charlie's family- terrific burgers and hotdogs and endless beer-flow. Can you ask for anything nicer??
Other family highlights include the family garden. Audrey has become obsessed with the mini-tomatoes. Not so much because she actually likes them... but she tries them over and over again because she sees me eating them. Often times we take a bite and then offer them up to her father. Awesome pumpkin production this year- at least 8! Most of them fairly small, but better than in previous years! The garden became a pumpkin patch after the vines kinda took over. But I'm thrilled about the results. Sunflowers are going to be a regular thing as well... they looked great this year but do not like the recent cold weather
